Joseph A. Pryluck, 69, of Quarryville, PA, passed away at his home on May 14, 2019. He was the husband of Carmela Adiletto Pryluck. Joe had retired from Lockheed Martin Corporation, CA, where he had worked as a rocket scientist (Engineer) in the aerospace industry. He was a graduate of Cornell University, Class of '71. Joe was a member of the "United Postal Stationery Society", where he served as a Board Member. His hobbies included: Square Dancing, Stamp Collector, Carpentry, Traveling. He had served as a Sheriff Deputy," Reserve" including: search & rescue, first responder, guarding the President on a visit to San Jose, CA. Richard Francis Marra, Sr., 78, of Nottingham, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 12, 2019. He was the husband of Rita Vivanco Marra, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Francis E. Marra and the late Margaret Burns Marra. He was a graduate of John Bartram High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from PennDOT after more than ten years of service, having previously worked for several decades as a draftsman for Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Newport News Shipbuilding. Janet A. Eshelman, 84, of Quarryville, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on May 10, 2019 at home surrounded by her family.
Known as Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was devoted to serving and worshipping the Lord. Janet was born in Lancaster to Harry and Mary Elizabeth Keene on January 21, 1935. She graduated from Quarryville High School in 1952, and married Barry Eshelman. Robert E. Torricellas, 83, of Peach Bottom, PA passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Lancashire Hall Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lancaster, PA.
He was the husband of Susan St. John Torricellas and the late Donna Torricellas who passed away on 2007. Born in Delaware County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Helen Gillespie Torricellas. Robert was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the IBEW Electrical Workers Local 357. Robert enjoyed country music, playing the steel guitar, dancing and gardening. He was a kind and loving man whom enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Doris June Myers, 89, formerly of Willow Street, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. She was the loving wife of the late George W. Myers, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2007. Born in Little Britain, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Estella J. (Ritchey) Hess. June was employed by and retired from, The Hamilton Watch Company. June was an active member of Church of the Apostles U.C.C., assisting in various activities. She was compassionate about helping local Cambodian refugees, assisting them to rebuild their lives. John Guy Morrison, 89, of Kirkwood, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community, Quarryville. He was the husband of Mary E. Greer Traina. Born in Oxford, he was the son of the late William and Catherine McHugh Morrison. Jack formerly owned and operated Morrison & Witman Enterprises, Barnsley. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Oxford. Jack enjoyed auctions and sales. L. Claire Downs, 90, of Drumore, formerly of Pequea went home to be with her Lord at her home on May 6, 2019. Born in Baltimore on January 1, 1929 she was the daughter of the late William H. and Lucy Ayres Bosley. Claire was the wife of Thomas S. Downs who preceded her in death on February 22, 1994. She graduated from Penn Manor High School. Claire had worked most recently for the Bakery at the Bird-In-Hand Farmers Market, along with the former Anchor Christian Bookstore at Willow Valley and the Willow Valley Gift Shops. Claire had a green thumb and enjoyed her plants, cooking and her purebread German Shepherds. Betty J. Farmer, age 90, of Christiana, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 12, 2019. Born in Unicorn, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Margaret Fisher Housekeeper. She graduated from Colerain High School. Betty loved shopping, flower gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert E. Ronald M. Detwiler, 74, of Woodland Drive, Quarryville, PA died Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Lancaster General Hospital. He and his wife Barbara R. Jackson Detwiler celebrated 48 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Walter and Edna Mininger Detwiler. Ron was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, Oxford, PA. He enjoyed giving to charities, vegetable and flower gardening, traveling, and being a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He was an avid weather-watcher. Ron was a loving husband, father and grandfather. |
