Starrett Robert Metzler, 20, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Starrett was the son of Debra Metzler Roth and the late Benjamin S. Metzler Jr., and stepson of Jeffrey Roth. Starrett loved his “Grams” and Pappy, and Grandma, as well as his Penn Manor and Penn State brothers. Starrett was a 2014 graduate of Penn Manor High School and was an engineering student at Penn State University, State College, PA. A note from his mother, who apologizes for the brief obituary. “It is with heart so heavy that I am barely able to breath. I am sure all parents will understand my pain.” Starrett’s Mom. Margaret Morrison Brown, 88, of Oxford died April 26th. She was the wife of Jay Brown who passed away in 1976. She was the daughter of the late Catherine (McHugh) and William Morrison. Mom was such a great mom. She was a waitress at the Varsity Grille restaurant for many years until the day it closed. She loved her time there and made lots of fans and memories. For fun she enjoyed bus trips to Atlantic City to the boardwalk and casinos. At home, she loved sitting on her back deck in the warm sunshine watching the kids go to and from school each day. Spending time with her great-grandchildren Alexis, Hayden and Brooks was her favorite way to pass time. Mary Ellen Haas Straub, 83, of New Providence PA, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of Scott Dale Straub. They had celebrated 62 years of marriage. Mary Ellen was born in South Williamsport PA, a daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Tobin Haas. An avid genealogist, she had documented her family on both sides. She enjoyed clipping coupons, and sending cards to friends and family for all of the special occasions. |
