Ruth E. Aument, 62, of Peach Bottom, entered into rest on Friday, April 14, 2017. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Nancy (Weidman) Hubbs. She and her husband, Philip S. Aument had celebrated 20 years of marriage in October. Ruth graduated from Solanco High School in 1972 and went on to work at Burnham Boiler Company in Lancaster for over 29 years. She was a member of Little Britain Presbyterian Church. Ruth was a quilter, many of her quilts she would donate to local charities. Victor F. Schwarz, 80, formerly of New Providence, PA, was born June 4, 1936 in Paramus, NJ. and passed away April 12, 2017 in Walnutport, PA. He was the son of the late Francis and Catherine Schwarz. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Jane (Sarro) and sons Gary and Kenneth. He was predeceased by their daughter, Jane Ann in 2014. He is survived by 6 grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and a brother Frank. He graduated from Bergen County Vocational and Technical High School. He served 8 years in the New Jersey Army National Guard. He was the owner of Schwarz Hardware/Teaneck Power Equipment, NJ for 35 years. He was President of V.F.S. Realty Company. He was a member of many civic organizations including Boy Scouts of America as Cub Master, Loyal Order of the Moose, and Rotary International. He served as District Governor of District 7490 Rotary from1993-94. He served in many positions in the Kennel Club of Northern New Jersey. He served on various town Council and zoning boards. He was a long-term resident of New Jersey prior to moving to Pennsylvania. He was a faithful parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish at the time of his death, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Verlaine Fisher Hess, 67, of New Providence, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care. Born in Lancaster she was the daughter of Howard “Buck” and Arlene (Doulin) Fisher of New Providence. She was the loving wife of James D. Hess, Sr. for 48 years. Verlaine was a hairstylist and had operated Hair Creations Salon out of her home for many years. She was an active member of Wrightsdale Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, they were her life. In addition to her husband and parents, Verlaine is survived by 4 sons: James D. Jr., husband of Amy Hess of Maine; Christopher Hess of New Providence; Jason, husband of Cori Hess of New Providence; and Jeremy, husband of Rebecca Hess of Quarryville. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and one great grandson due in May; a brother, Howard Fisher, Jr. and a sister, Carol Templeton. Jay N. Garber, 86, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Hospice and Community Care. He was the son of the late Paul B. and Ida (Nissley) Garber. He was the loving husband of June (Kreider) Garber for over 66 years. Jay was a member of Victory Church, Lancaster Campus and had worked as a general manager for Servomation, Inc., Myers Propane, and Garden Spot Auto Auction. Arlene E. Trout, 89, of Quarryville, PA passed quietly and peacefully on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Hamilton Arms Center, Lancaster, PA. She and her husband Maris W. Trout would have celebrated 71 years of marriage on April 25, 2017. Born in Willow Street, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. and Edith McClune Mowrer. A homemaker, Arlene had previously worked for Tidy Products. She enjoyed quilting, bird watching, gardening, and crossword puzzles. John A. Wagner, 81, of Little Britain Township, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the beloved husband of June L. (Carroll) Wagner, sharing 25 years of marriage together. Born in Little Britain Township, he was the son of the late Howard D. and Esther (Wenger) Wagner. John was a graduate of Solanco High School, class of 1953. In his early days John was an electrician, wiring many homes in the community. He then became a refrigeration mechanic, first employed by Triangle Refrigeration, and later for his own company, working for over 25 years. John had a love for gardening, and he was well known for raising blueberries. He was also a handyman, able to fix most anything that was broken. |
