Leroy S. Zook, age 64 of 1721-A Mine Road, Paradise, passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
He was the husband of Barbara D. Stoltzfus Zook. Born in Gap, he was the son of the late Samuel K. and Annie Stoltzfoos Zook. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church. David W. “Dave” Testerman, Sr., 61, of Quarryville, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Sandra D. (Rohrer) Testerman, with whom he shared 42 years of marriage. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Florence M. (Ross) Testerman, of Peach Bottom, and the late Reber J. Testerman. Dave attended Solanco Schools and over the years received training and certifications in welding and heavy equipment operation. Throughout his life, Dave worked as a farmer, spray painter, mechanic, truck driver, construction worker, and most recently as a facility maintenance person at Pilgrim’s Oak Golf Course, retiring with 16 years of service. In his spare time, Dave enjoyed farming, playing horseshoes, and performing mountain-style clogging. He was a member of the Lancaster County Sportsmen Association, Solanco Fair Association, Make-A-Wish, Central PA Teamsters, and Pennsylvania Heavy & Highway Contractors. Dolores Walton Wagner, 68, of New Providence, entered into rest on Monday, February 15, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Dorothy Luella (Brown) Walton. She and her husband, Patrick L. Wagner had celebrated 41 years of marriage in May. After graduating high school Dolores worked as a manager, worked in retail, and in food service. Her favorite pastimes were crocheting, playing bingo and most of all spending time with her family. Sherry Lynn Cunningham, 50, of Lancaster, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Linda Jean (Blough) Ruhl. She is survived by her father, James Derr, husband of Peggy L. Derr and her loving husband of 29 years, Brian D. Cunningham. Also surviving are two sons, Hunter and Bradey Cunningham; and sisters, Lisa, wife of George Frankford and Erika Eckman and several nieces and nephews. Sherry was a graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School and had most recently worked as an assistant to Heather Mellinger at Keller-Williams Elite. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and at her dad’s home in Potter County. Sherry was a long-time member of the Worship Center, where she loved helping with the babies in the nursery. Sherry loved the Lord and was always quick to share her faith. She was a spiritual mom and mentor to many. Linda Simons Pierce, 80, of Lincoln University, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Jenner’s Pond, West Grove. She was the wife of the late David L. Pierce. Born in Ashland, PA she was the daughter of the late Charles H. and Esther Treibley Simons. Linda was a homemaker and animal lover. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. She was loved and admired by her nieces and nephews who spent time on the family farm in Lincoln University. Dennis L. Kauffman, age 72, of Kinzers, passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was the husband of Betty Jane Coffroad Kauffman for over 53 years. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late David K. Kauffman and Ella Miller Kauffman Blank. A graduate of Octorara High School, he worked at Andrews Excavating and Buck Motor Sports Park retiring in 2020. Dennis enjoyed going to the family cabin at Stone Mountain in Mifflin County, tractor pulls, hunting, and bear watching. Horace Lee Merricks, 86, of Noble Road, Kirkwood, PA died Friday, February 12, 2021 at Reading Hospital. He and his wife Barbara J. Thomas Merricks celebrated 62 years of marriage. Born in Bradford, FL, he was the son of the late Henry and Inetz Bogens Merricks. Horace was an owner/operator, driving for Herr’s Motor Express for over 30 years. He had worked for Pinno Pontiac in Oxford for 21 years reconditioning automobiles. Horace also drove as an Amish taxi service. Surviving beside his wife Barbara is a daughter Bridgette Merricks of Lancaster; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 brothers Lorenzo Lincoln and Truman Purdue. Stacy L. Smith, age 55 of Lancaster, p assed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of Henry H. Smith II with whom she celebrated 28 years of marriage on the same day she passed away. Born in Gap, she was the daughter of the late Nancy Ann Weaver Kauffman and M. David Sr. husband of Michele D. Kauffman of Lancaster. She graduated from Pequea Valley High School and became a caregiver for Right At Home health care. Stacy loved geckos, her orange Dodge Charger, and going to the beach. Ella Rose Hamm, 79, of Oxford, PA passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at home. She was the wife of Howard E. Hamm with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. Born in Mt. City, TN she was the daughter of the late Hugh and Winnie Phillips Dunn. Ella was employed as a chef for Calvert Manor Health Care Center, Rising Sun, MD retiring in 2003. She was a member of Vaught Gap Church, Mt. City, TN. Ella loved gardening, flowers, a manicured lawn and taking care of her family. Mary James Risk, 106, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Glen at Willow Valley. Mary was born October 20, 1914 to parents Clarence and Evelyn Proctor James. She grew up in Delta, then Lancaster County with her three siblings, brothers, Jesse, Edward (Ebby), and sister Elizabeth (Libby) Macomber. She was married to her husband Robert (Bob) for almost 69 years. They have all preceded her in death. She has two daughters, Jean Robinson and husband Boyd, Lois Goodrich and husband Walter. She has three grandchildren, Keith Robinson and wife Azizah, Britina Robinson Pesak and husband Eric, and Carisa Goodrich Phillips and husband Jeff. She has four great grandchildren, Emma and Zachary Robinson, and Jacob and William Phillips. |
