Diane N. Gicker, age 77, passed away on Monday, January 29, 2018. She was born on January 23, 1941, in Richmond, Virginia, the daughter of Herbert and Mildred (Coulter) Netsch. Diane graduated from Delaware City High School and attended the University of Delaware where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Education. Diane taught the sixth grade math at Swift Middle School in the Solanco School District before her retirement. She was a long time member on Memorial United Methodist Church in Quarryville, PA and volunteered at the Quarryville Library and Solanco Fair. Diane had a variety of interests including knitting, reading and singing in the church choir, but enjoyed most her time spent with her family. Diane also loved vacationing with her family at the ocean along the east coast. Kristopher D. Schwerin, Sr., 55, of Peach Bottom passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, February 2, 2018. Born in Chester, PA he was the son of Kenneth D., Sr. and Dorothy (Young) Schwerin. He was the loving husband of Michele (Hresko) Schwerin for over 33 years. Kris had worked as a maintenance supervisor for Southco Inc. for 35 years. He was a past president of the Robert Fulton Fire Company and a member of the Penn Lodge #709 F.&A.M. in Concordville. His hobbies included hunting and Jeeps. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, Kris is survived by 2 sons, Kristopher D., Jr., husband of Christine Schwerin of Peach Bottom; and Kevin, husband of Amanda Schwerin of Strasburg. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren, Kristopher D. Schwerin, III and Kelsey Schwerin. |
