Janice G. Adams, 80, of Peach Bottom, PA, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015. She was the widow of Lloyd F. Adams who passed away in 1989. Janice enjoyed playing bingo, going to the beach, and her grandchildren. Janice was a member of Ashville Bible Church, Oxford, PA. Our dear Mom was a friend to all and a mother to many over the years. Her family was her pride and joy. Janice has left us sadly, but those that love her are left with a piece of her in our hearts. She will be sadly missed by all. Pauline B. Stoner of Lancaster Pike, Quarryville, died at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford, on Friday morning, January 2, 2015. She was 92. Mrs. Stoner was born in New Providence, a daughter of the late J. Lehman and Martha R. Burkins. She was a 1944 graduate of Millersville State Teachers College. Mrs. Stoner taught elementary school for the Solanco School District from 1945 to 1978. E. Marie Eager of River Rd., Drumore, died at Hospice and Community Care, Mt. Joy, on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. She was 72. Mrs. Eager was born in Paradise, a daughter of the late Alfred and Edith V. Rice Mowrer. She was a homemaker. Col. (Ret.) Ray A. Strawser of Maryland, died on Wednesday, December 31, 2015. Col. Strawser was a son of the late Clarence and Erma Graybill Strawser. After serving in the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II, he graduated from Houghton College. While attending Northern Seminary in Chicago, he served a church in that city. David R. Combs, 69, of Kirkwood, PA, passed away December 26, 2014. He was the husband of Betty Mae Jones Combs. They had celebrated 50 years of marriage. David had been employed as an owner operator truck driver. He had proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Irene (Moran) Farmer, 91, of the Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and formerly, Kirkwood, entered into rest on December 31, 2014. Born in Blacksburg, VA, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Malinda S. (Janey) Moran. Irene was married to the late Howard H. Farmer on June 30th, 1939. She gave birth to 7 children; a daughter, Pauline (Bonnie) Elizabeth wife of Ronald L. Franklin of Ephrata, a son Terry, married to Linda (Rineer) Farmer, of Quarryville, a daughter Sandra Kay married to Stephen D. Breneman of Earleville, Md., and a daughter, Penny Susan married to Michael Housekeeper of Quarryville. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, a sister Madeline Baldwin of Christiana along with nieces, nephews, a daughter-in-law, Thelma L. Farmer (widow of Donald P.) of Shallotte, N.C. and all their families that truly adored her. Anne R. Dager, 97, of Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community and formerly Haddonfield, NJ, entered into rest on December 28, 2014. Born in Collingswood, NJ she was a daughter of the late James P. and Mary (Warner) Ransom. Her husband, Donald Dager died in 2010. Anne was a homemaker. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cherry Hill, NJ. where she taught Sunday school. One of Anne’s passions was to travel; she and her late husband were world travelers. She also enjoyed crafts and especially silversmithing. Anne was a member of the ladies club, Stitch and Chatter. |
