William Lewis Wilson of Mohrsville, Pa., formerly of Elkton, died Thursday, July 24, 2014 in the St. Joseph's Medical Center, Reading, Pa. He was 84. Born in Princeton, W.Va., on October 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Walter W. Wilson, Sr. and the late Grace (Warden) Wilson. Mr. Wilson served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from W.L. Gore, Elkton, MD in 2002, and had also worked for Northeastern Plumbing Supply, Elkton.
A member of Baptist Bible Church, Elkton, he was a faithful Deacon and Bus Captain, instrumental in acquiring the current church property and completed all the plumbing in the new buildings. He loved to garden and spend time with his family. Mr. Wilson was the husband of 57 years of Twila Wilson of Mohrsville, Pa.. In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Daniel L. Wilson and wife, Loretta of Middletown, Del.; his daughter: Elaine Boyle and husband, Robert of Elkton; a brother, Walter W. Wilson, Jr. of Walterboro, S.C.; three grandchildren, Daniel L. Wilson, Jr., Shannon Boyle, Heather Wilson; and a great grandchild, Savannah Logan. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. Burial will follow services in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton.
