Virginia Lee Heath of Kennett Square, Pa. and formerly of Oxford, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at her home. She was 82. She was the wife of the late James R. Heath, Jr. Born in Shady Valley, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Jane Flanagan Snyder. Mrs. Heath was an avid reader and enjoyed singing, cooking, sewing clothes, playing bingo, going to the casinos, and watching game shows, soap operas and court TV. She especially loved her dog (Harley) and spending time with family. Her sense of fashion matched her personality --- all sparkle and shine. Earlier in her life, she was employed with Chatham Acres Nursing Home for seventeen years as a nurse’s aide. She loved her patients very much and put her whole heart into caring for them.
She is survived by three sons, James R. Heath, III (Susan) of New Providence, Pa., Gary L. Heath (Diane) of Greenville, Tenn., Timmy A. Heath (Michele) of Quarryville, Pa.; five daughters, Georgia I. Jones of Oxford, Judy A. Chamberlain (Joseph, Jr.) of Oxford, Darlene J. Webster (Walter) of Oxford, Patty J. Day (Michael) of Rising Sun, and Barbara J. Heath of Kennett Square; caregiving granddaughter, Sherri Compton (Steve) of Rising Sun; 18n grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Watkins of Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, at the Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, PA, where friends and family may visit from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Oxford Cemetery.
