Terry Wayne McCoy of Newark, Del. and Chesapeake City, died Sunday, August 24, 2014. He was 68. He was born in McComas, W. Va., on May 15, 1946 and moved to Newark, Del. in 1960. He started carpentry work at 13 years old. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and his farm in Chesapeake City. He loved his work and enjoyed talking to everyone in Sparrow Run. Most of all, he loved his family and the time he spent with them. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Geraldine McCoy; his children: Kathy Van Culin (Eddie) of Earleville, Tammy McCoy (Steve Ellis) of Chesapeake City, and Tara Hartman McCoy of EHT, N.J.; six grandchildren, Richard Fitch III of Dover, Del., Jimmy McCoy (Kaitlyn) of Newark, Del., Krystle Fitch of Smyrna, Del., Heather Fitch of Earleville, Christopher McCoy of Chesapeake City, and Shelby Chambers of Earleville; great grandchildren, Melissa Hewes McCoy and Jace Andrew Perry; six siblings, Bonnie Gibson (Clyde), Gary McCoy (Eulla), Pat McCoy, Mark McCoy (Minnie), Mike McCoy and Tammy Lucas (Randy); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother: Homer and Beckie McCoy; his mother and stepfather: Beatrice (Hicks) and Buddy Graham: a daughter, Terri Ann McCoy; a granddaughter: Ashley McCoy; his sister, Veronica McCoy Abshire; and two brothers, Dean McCoy and Barry Lusk. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests on Friday evening, from 6-8 pm. Burial will follow services in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton. Comments are closed.
