Sidney “Ray” Stout, 73, of Oxford, PA passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 9, 2017 with his beloved wife, Laura Lorraine Sturgill Stout, by his side. Ray and Laura had recently celebrated their 52nd year of marriage together. Ray was the son of the late Paul Stout and Mabel Dunn Stout of TN. After high school, Ray proudly served his county in the U.S. Marine Corps. He then went on to find employment as a truck driver. Ray was employed by Frame’s Motor Freight of West Chester, PA for many years and later he worked at Delaware Express in Elkton, MD. Ray retired after 40 plus years of combined service. Ray loved being home with his family but he also enjoyed fishing, hunting and his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. In addition, Ray looked forward to watching car racing and American Pickers. He was also known for his gardening skills and he regularly shared his surplus of vegetables with his family, friends, and neighbors. In addition to his wife, Ray is survived by his children, Tammy Lynn Schied (husband Fred), of MD, Thomas Ray Stout (significant other Karin Dobraniecki Duvall), of MD, and Tina Louise Giordano, of DE. Ray was especially proud of his grandchildren, Troy Giordano, of DE, Riley and Jessie Stout (mother Kim Stout), of PA, as well as step-grandchildren, James, Anthony, and Dominique Giordano, all of PA.
Ray was also survived by his step-mother, Beulah Jane Barlow, of FL; step-brothers, Thomas and George Barlow, of FL; step-sisters, Cheryl Bastien, of DE, Linda Allen, of MD, and Dorothy Purvis, of FL. Ray also had many nieces and nephews who he enjoyed spending time with.
