Pauline Funk of Port Deposit died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace. She was 82. Born August 28, 1931, in Ashe County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late James Edward and Stella Blackburn Blevins. Mrs. Funk and her husband Rex loved to travel and visited every state in the country, nine of the 12 provinces in Canada, Germany, Egypt and walked where Jesus walked in Jerusalem. Mrs. Funk was a founding member of Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit. She was a pre-school teacher at the Lighthouse Christian Academy of Port Deposit, for over 20 years. She is survived by her husband, William Rex Funk of Port Deposit, MD, son, Rex Alan Funk (Carol), daughters, S. Susan Buck (George) and Laurie Ann Musick (Mark Burchard); eight grandchildren, Jodi Finney (Charles), Jeremy Funk (Mary), Tiara Locchetto (Louis), Tawni Kuhling (Kyle), Haley Westgate (Jamie), Hannah Masciangelo (Raymond), Trevor and Tyler; ten great-grandchildren (Connor, Collin, Carter, Caylee, Noah, Molly, Sydney, Brooks, Talbot, Remy); brother, Joseph Blevins; sister, Kay Parsons.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Louis Blevins, Lida Blevins, Dewey Blevins, Leonard Blevins and sisters, Ruby Phipps and June Paisley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church c/o Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., P.O. Box 766, Perryville, MD 21903-0766. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 28, 11 a.m., at Pleasant View Baptist Church of Port Deposit. Visitations for family and friends will be held Sunday, July 27, 6-8 p.m., and Monday, July 28, 10-11 a.m., at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor Dr. Harold Phillips of Pleasant View Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Conowingo Baptist Church Cemetery. Comments are closed.
