Mildred Tamargo Letts of Elkton died Friday, February 20, 2015, in the Laurelwood Care Center, Elkton. She was 86. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on July 28, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Sandy and the late Elivera (Schwerdtman) Tamargo. She was a self-employed hairdresser. Mrs. Letts was a member of the Ladies Aux. of NEVFD and was inducted into the Harford Cecil Hall of Fame – Ladies Aux.
She was also a member of the Otter Point Yacht Club, Abingdon, and the North East Lions Club. She enjoyed bowling. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Letts Smith of Warwick; four grandchildren, Alisa Barclay of Elkton, Laura Jean Smith of Bel Air, Robert Allan Smith of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Victoria Lynn Handy of Bel Air; and one great granddaughter, Isabella Christine Morrow of Bel Air. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests beginning at noon.
