Mary Louise Cunningham of Havre de Grace, formerly of Port Deposit, died at home Thursday, October 26, 2017. She was 93. Born October 16, 1924 in Port Deposit,, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Antoinette Novella Rinaldi. Mrs. Cunningham was a member of Good Shepherd Parish of Perryville, having attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mrs. Cunningham pursued different careers after attending Tome School in Port Deposit. She ultimately found her niche for working with the public employed for years at Winchester’s Restaurant in Port Deposit. She was co-owner of Port Variety Store with her husband, Donald, to operating an expanded business with her son, Frank and wife for almost 20 years. Two different locations known as Old Port Inn and Cunningham’s. The business was well known for cheese steaks, Italian subs, and homemade meatballs. It was in operation during the last hey day of Wiley’s Mfg.
Mrs. Cunningham supported local charitable groups as well as her favorite foundations of St. Jude’s Hospital and ASPCA and Veterans. Mrs. Cunningham ultimately enjoyed retirement relocating to Havre de Grace, spending time with friends and family. Most treasured were times spent with grandkids and great grandkids and her pets. She also enjoyed travel to Nashville, as she was a country music fan, and trips to Florida to visit her three brothers. She also enjoyed attending church, reading, and good conversation. Mrs. Cunningham is survived by her sons, Frank Cunningham and wife, Carmen, of Havre de Grace, and Donald (Harvey) Cunningham, Jr., and wife, Suzy, of Port Deposit; daughter, Rosemary Seward of Loveland, Col.; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and brother, Andrew Rinaldi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Cunningham, Sr.; daughter, Nancy Mummert-Brown; brothers, Frank Rinaldi, Sr. and Joseph Rinaldi, Jr. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 3, 2017, 2 p.m., at the Lee A. Patterson & Son Funeral Home, P.A., Perryville. Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, November 3, 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
