Lillie E. England of Rising Sun, MD, age 93, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017. She was born in Elkton, MD on October 11, 1923 to the late Paul England and Florence (Crothers) England. Lillie worked for 8 years for Aetna Property Casualty Insurance Company. She went on to work for 35 years for the DuPont Company, from 1950 to 1985, before retiring from the engineering department. Lillie was a member of the Historical Society of Cecil County as well as a member of the Order of the Eastern Star - Elkton, MD Chapter 84. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels in West Nottingham, PA and also volunteered for the Ray of Hope Mission in Rising Sun, MD. Lillie was a member of the Rosebank United Methodist Church. She was a Chairman of the Administrative Counsel in addition to being a Recording Financial Secretary. She enjoyed reading and traveling. Lillie is survived by her brother, Robert Crothers England, two nephews: Curtis England and Randall England, three nieces: Donna Montgomery, Teresa England, and Valerie Moore Kline, and four great nieces: Louisa Tindall, Jennifer Kline, Kathryn Kline, and Rebekah Kline. In addition to her parents, Lillie was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline England Moore.
A funeral service in Lillie's honor will be held at 12PM on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Rosebank United Methodist Church, 1743 Telegraph Rd., Rising Sun, MD, 21911. Family and friends may begin visiting at 11AM. Comments are closed.
