Lester Eugene Knisely of North East died Thursday, October 17, 2013. He was 84. Born in Troy, W.Va., on March 6, 1929, he was the son of the late Eric and Ethel (Taylor) Knisely. Mr. Knisely served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was Class President of his High School graduating class and captain of the basketball team.
A graduate of Glenville State College, he earned his Master's Degree from West Virginia University. He retired from Cecil County Schools with over 31 years of service as a teacher and school administrator. Mr. Knisely was a member of the American Legion Mason Dixon Post 194, Rising Sun. He enjoyed traveling, camping, yard work and everything about the outdoors. He enjoyed square dancing and loved returning to his home state of West Virginia where he was born and raised. Most of all, he enjoyed the time he got to spend time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Alice M. (Peters) Knisely; his daughter: Debbie Grafton and her husband Scott; two grandsons: Jeff and Tim Green, of Elkton; two step grandsons, Matthew and Mason Grafton; a great granddaughter, Raina Green; his sister, Dorothy Radcliff of Glenville, W.Va.; and his nephews and niece in W.Va., Ricky, Eddie and Ann. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 7 p.m. from Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests from 5 p.m. until the time of the services. Burial will be Friday, October 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. in Carder Cemetery, Alum Bridge, W.Va. Comments are closed.
