Julie C. Adams, “Teenie” or “Nana” of North East died at home Thursday, March 19, 2015. She was 68. Born in War, W.Va., on June 24, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Frank and the late Hazel (Winebarger) Buchanan. Mrs. Adams enjoyed playing Bingo and visiting Disney World. She loved working with the North East High School cheerleaders and they all affectionately called her “Cheer Nana”. She is survived by her husband, Duane S. Adams; her daughter, Tina L. Holmes (Donald) and granddaughter, Brittany Holmes all of North East; six siblings, Jimmy Buchanan (Judy) of Belleview, Fla., Jerry Buchanan (Carol) of Elkton, Gerald Buchanan of Elkton, Loretta Comegys (Bob) of North East, Perle Mann (Bill) of Elkton, and Merle Gilbert (Huck) of North East; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Buchanan. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Phil Meekins, will be held Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests on Saturday evening, from 6-8 p.m. Burial for immediate family only will be Monday, March 23, at 10 a.m. in North East Methodist Cemetery.
