Jerrold Wayne "Jerry" Butcher of Aiken, S.C., died Saturday, July 16, 2016. He was 72. Mr. Butcher was born in Marlton, W.Va., and lived in Colora before moving to South Carolina. He lived in Aiken for the past seven years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Butcher was a driver for Overnight Transportation until he retired. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Sue Butcher; his son, Vince, husband of Tammy Butcher of North Augusta, S.C.; his daughter, Pam, wife of Rick Ragan of Conowingo; four grandchildren, Jenna, wife of Brian Moore, Craig Butcher, Jeffrey Wilson, and John Ragan; three great-grandchildren, Colyn Moore, Carson Moore, and Kelsey Moore; and his sister, Dreama Dunlap of Charleston, W.Va.
A memorial service will be held at the Posey Funeral Chapel, North Augusta, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, with the Rev. Jay Knotts officiating. Veterans honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
