Janet Louise Gray of North East died at home on Thursday, December 19, 2013. She was 66. Mrs. Gray was born July 29, 1947, a daughter of the late Chalmer W. and Dorothy Pearl Miller Smith. She was a lifelong resident of North East. She enjoyed her home, caring for her family, cooking, baking, and studying genealogy. Mrs. Gray is survived by her husband of 32 years, Brian Gray; her daughter, Heather Bakely of Conowingo; two grandchildren who lived with her, Austin Bakely and Mikayla Bakely; siblings Judy Smith of North East, Bill, husband of Myrna Smith of Centennial, Colo., Dottie, wife of Richard Forthman of Bel Air, and Joan, wife of Elmer Alexander of Tampa, Fla.; and her stepsister, June Roesch of Altoona, Pa.
A brother, George Edward Smith; a sister, Jane Raber; a stepsister, Jean Raneri; and an infant sister, Joyce, are deceased. Friends may call at the Crouch Funeral Home, 127 S. Main St., North East, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, December 22. Services will be held from the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 23. Burial will be in Rosebank Cemetery, Calvert. Flowers are welcome. Memorial contributions may be made for an education fund for the Gray grandchildren in care of the funeral home. Comments are closed.
