James Charles Pyle of Nottingham, Pa., died at his home May 23, 2014. He was 68. Born in West Grove, Pa., on March 11, 1946, he was the son of the late Clyde and Mary Hendrickson Pyle. He was a 1965 graduate of Oxford Area High School and was a member of the UAW, working at Chrysler for 36 years until his retirement in 2001. He then pursued his new career as a gentleman farmer on the family farm. He enjoyed woodworking and telling stories but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. Mr. Pyle is survived by his wife of 47 years, Lois Weaver Pyle; a daughter Kimberly Carew and her husband Christopher of Elkton; daughter-in-law Jessica Pyle of Harrisonburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Grant, Keegan and Greyson Carew and Jillian Pyle; a brother, Robert Pyle and his wife Kathy and a sister-in-law Maria Pyle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Timothy Pyle and his brother, Clyde Pyle, Jr. Friends and family are invited to a visitation to be held Thursday evening May 29, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 and a celebration of his life at The Farm on June 21, 2014 at 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jillian Pyle Education Fund and sent to the funeral home.
