Helen Marko Conroy of Baltimore died May 26, 2016 at John Hopkins Bay View Hospital. She was 93. Born on June 9, 1922 in Duquesne, PA, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Marko. Mrs. Conroy moved to Baltimore City in 1941 and worked at the Goetz Meat Packing Company for 22 years and at United Products, formerly Carrier Are Conditioning Company, where she retired at the age of 70. In her earlier years, she enjoyed dancing, bowling, and gardening. She loved saving old cookbooks and cherished the old recipes from family and friends. She was a devout animal lover who would want her two dogs, Ginger and Gigi, whom she cared for during her lifetime, mentioned. Mrs. Conroy will be remembered by her family, friends, and coworkers as a hardworking, generous, and compassionate person who loved and supported her family. Those that knew her were touched by her care and concern for others. She is survived by her son, Patrick R. Conroy, Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Rising Sun; sister, Margaret Pellecchia of Belleville, Mich.; brothers: George Marko and his wife, Mary, of Buffalo, N.Y., and Ronnie Marko and his wife, Iris, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; grandson, Kyle Conroy of Rising Sun; granddaughter, Patricia Kelly and her husband, Josh, of North East; and great granddaughter, Cadence Kelly of North East,.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick R. Conroy; sisters, Mona Segal and Paula Marko; and brothers, Richard Marko, John Marko, and Edward Marko.
