Glenna "Lou" Thompson, 90, is finally free from Dementia. On December 23, 2016 she met her Lord and Savior in Heaven and had a most incredible reunion with many family and friends who have passed before her. Born in Manti, Utah on July 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Tollstrup and Claire (Braithewaite) Tollstrup. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, music, gardening, mowing, traveling, dining out and a nice glass of wine. She loved animals and had many dogs and cats and even a pet raccoon and a pet squirrel. She had a great sense of humor and loved laughing along to her favorite shows; Everybody Loves Raymond, King of Queens, and The Golden Girls. She also very much enjoyed watching music and religious programs with her daughter. She is survived by her son, James Baxter (Carol), of Frisco, TX; daughter, Sandra (Knowles) Perkel (Mike), of North East, MD; granddaughter, Kimberly Olah (Stephen), of North East, MD; grandson, Eugene Knowles, Jr., of North East, MD; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, along with nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cat, Penny, who always stayed by her side.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clair Thompson; sister, Laurice (Tollstrup) Morales; brother, John Tollstrup, and companion, Bill Houseman. A very special thank you to the CNA's, Nurses, and Social Workers at Season's Hospice for their care and compassion, and to the Music Therapists for bringing live music to her bedside, where she remembered every single word and sang along with all the old songs, bringing back many memories and sometimes a few tears, but mostly a bright sparkle to her eyes. A graveside service will be held at Hart's United Methodist Church, Elk Neck, MD, on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 2:00pm.
