Gerald Allen Sakers of North East died Monday, December 21, 2015 at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton. He was 73. Born in Pa., on October 14, 1942, he was the son of the late Norman Winfield and Edna Mae (Brown) Sakers. Mr. Sakers served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He retired from Scott Paper after 35 years as a paper mill engineer. He was a gifted woodworker who spent many hours building beautiful projects. His love showed through every masterpiece he created and passed onto his children, grandchildren, family and friends. He is survived by his children, Julie Price of Rising Sun, Gerald Sakers, Jr. of North East, and Joseph M. Sakers (Teena) of Middletown, Del.; his companion, Marie T. Cardwell of North East; a brother, Norman Sakers of Millsboro, Del.; a sister, Gail Sydenstricker of Oxford, Pa.; eight grandchildren; and a great grandson.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, December 26, at 3 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests beginning at 2 p.m. until service time. Comments are closed.
