Francis A. “Luke” Edwards of North East died at home Wednesday, July 22, 2015. He was 74. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Elkton on March 5, 1941, the son of the late Porter J. Edwards and the late Jane (Armour) Sutton. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Edwards retired from George & Lynch Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching the Orioles and the Ravens play. He was a member of the North East VFW Post 6027. Mr. Edwards is survived by his daughters, Janet Fisher, Lori Helms and Karen Miller (Sean) all of La., stepson, Chris Bryant (Becky) of Street; stepdaughter, Jodi Bryant-Griffith (Ronnie) of North East; 10 grandchildren, Justin Fisher, Chase Fisher, Declan Miller, Jasmine Helms and Mabry Miller all of La., Matthew Griffith (Erin) of Newark, Del., Jillian Bryant of Madison, N.C,
Lucas Griffith of North East, Steven Morris of Street, and Sam Morris of North East; a great grandchild, Jay Griffith of Newark, Del.; two sisters, Hallie M. Edwards (Sandy) of Presto, Pa., Linda J. Bungard of Elkton, and four brothers, Ronald P. "Buck" Edwards (Janet) of Mo., Earl V. "Willie" Edwards of North East, Charles C. "Jake" Sutton, Jr. (Laura) of North East, and Nelson Wayne Sutton (Rosie) of North East; and extended family, Kim Bryant, Anthony Bryant both of Aberdeen, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane Bryant Edwards who passed on Feb. 4, 2013. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 27, at 2 p.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, where the family will receive guests beginning at 1 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow services in Ebenezer Cemetery, Rising Sun. Comments are closed.
