Con Shanahan of Elkton died Monday, July 27, 2015. He was 68. Born in Wilmington, Del. on May 22, 1947, he was son of the late Cornelius F. Ethel Lundberg Shanahan. Owner of Master Plumbers, Elkton, since 1971, Mr. Shanahan had built and owned Cherry Hill Plaza. He had served on the plumbing boards for both cecil County and the State of Maryland. An avid boxer and boxing instructor, Mr. Shanahan volunteered his facility and time to "Tip of the Sword", an American Taekwondo Association Club.
He was the 1984 AMA National Flat Track Champion and enjoyed riding motorcycles and pistol shooting. Mr. Shanahan is survived by a son, Dalton Shanahan; a twin sister, Connie S. Riffle of Deerfield, Va., a brother, Frank P. Shanahan of North East, a niece, Julie Ann Rigg; and nephews, John, James, and Travis Rigg, and Tony Antonio. A visitation will be held Monday, August 3 from 6-8 p.m. at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 4 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
