Charleen Grace Banks of Colora, MD, 74 died February 27, 2017 at home. She was born in Youngstown, Ohio to the late Gerturde Zoltowski and Aloysius Dietz. She grew up in Starke, Florida and graduated from Bradford County High School. She was a member of Good Shephard Catholic Church in Perryville, MD and her faith was an important part of her life. She worked for the Forwood Bus Company for 25 years. She worked and lived on a racehorse breeding farm- Forwood Stables in Boothwyn, PA from 1970 to 1985. She worked and lived on a racehorse training farm in Colora, MD from 1985 to 2017. She was a longstanding member of the US Trotters Association. She had a love of horses and the sport of harness racing. She shared her knowledge and love of horses, dogs and the value of hard work with a group of young people who considered her a great mentor and a second mother. She is survived by her sons William E. Banks (Tammy) and David R (Nellie) Banks, brother Adrian Dietz (Carol), sister Lucille Blizzard (John), Aunt Florence Lupo, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Arthur Allen, brothers Arthur Dietz, Sonny Dietz and Joseph Kauffman.
