Barbara Ann Seaman Richardson, age 54, of Scottsdale, AZ, and formerly of Elkton, MD, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Elkton. She was born in Elkton, on May 20, 1962 to Mathilde Schuler Seaman and the late John Seaman. Born and raised in the Elkton area, she was a 1980 graduate of Elkton High School. She attended Salisbury State College where she was on the Women's Swim Team her freshman year. In 1981, Barbara moved to Dallas, TX to attend Bauder Fashion College, earning her associates degree in 1983. It was at this time that she started working as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines. Her great love of people fit in perfectly with the young airline's corporate culture, and she helped the company grow, serving as they expanded to Dallas, Houston, Phoenix, and Chicago. She retired after serving almost thirty years. She is survived by her husband of 18 years, Andrew William Richardson, of Scottsdale, AZ; her mother, Mathilde Schuler Seaman, of Elkton, MD; brothers, Roy Seaman, of Wilmington, DE, and Perry Seaman, of Newark, DE; nieces and nephews, Matthew Welch, Mackenzie Welch, Emily Kyewski, Monica Seaman, Catharine Richardson, William Richardson, Timothy Richardson, Kyle Richardson, Courtney Richardson, and Britney Richardson; and brothers-in-law, Kevin Richardson and his wife, Debbie, of Waunakee, WI, and Tim Richardson, and his wife, Janice, of Park Ridge, IL.
She is predeceased by her father, John Seaman, a brother, Kenneth Seaman, and a niece, Taylor Welch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 455 Bow Street, Elkton, MD 21921. A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Burial will be held privately.
