Edith Veasey Wisti, 82 of Sinking Spring, PA, died Saturday, December 1, 2018 in the Berks Heim Nursing Home, Reading, PA.
Born in Elkton, MD, on September 12, 1936, she was the daughter of the late William and Alberta (Murphy) Veasey. She was a Homemaker and a member of St. Peter’s U.M.C., Reading, PA. Survived by her husband: George G. Wisti; one daughter: Anita Bedore (Dan) of Ontario, Canada and two sons: Gordon W. Wisti (Tracy) of Shillington, PA and Peter B. Wisti (Robyn) of Sterling, VA; a brother: William Veasey of Elkton, MD; sister-in-law: Wanda Veasey, Elk Mills, MD; also 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren Clifford "Don" Harmon Edwards, 79 of Conowingo, MD, died Friday, November 30, 2018 in the Elkton Transitional Care Center, Elkton, MD. Born in Elsmere, DE, on July 20, 1939, he was the son of the late John R. and Lena Alaya (Pass) Edwards. Prior to retirement, he was self-employed, working in small engine repair. Many years ago he worked at NVF in Newark, DE. Mr. Edwards was a former member of the Delaware National Guard. He also was a member of Aetna Fire Department, Newark, DE, Water Witch Fire Department, Port Deposit, MD and the Newark Anglers Association. Survived by his wife: Betty Edwards of Conowingo, MD; daughters: Dawn Thompson (Bruce) of Bear, DE and Lorraine Annand of FL; stepdaughters: Donna Deckard and Sandy Lloyd (Robert); stepson: Stanley Campbell; Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Ronald Carl Ashbridge, 72 of Elkton, MD, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 30, 2018. He ended his earthly journey and met Jesus face to face in the Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE after being there less than 24 hours. A resident of North East, Elkton, and Ft. Myers, Florida, he was born on May 7, 1946, the son of the late George H. and Dorothy L. (Russell) Ashbridge. Ron graduated from North East High School and Goldey Beacom College. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground, working for the Dept. of Defense as a computer specialist. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Ron was a strong and caring man of little words. He loved his family very much and worked hard to provide everything for them. Known as “Mr. Fix-It,” give him anything and he could repair it for you. He was a good athlete and during his life enjoyed many sports such as water skiing, basketball, volleyball, kayaking, cycling and hiking. He also loved working in his orange grove with his father in Florida. However, his favorite activity recently had been memorizing scripture and sharing the life-changing power of Christ with all those who spent time with him. |
