Kristi Lynn Zander of Rising Sun died November 17, 2013. She was 23. Born in Baltimore on January 12, 1990, she was the daughter of Kathi Ann Wilson Zander and Jeffrey Allen Zander. She was a 2008 graduate of Rising Sun High School and attended Harford Community College. Ms. Zander worked as a dental assistant. Stella C. Temple of Rising Sun died Monday, November 18, 2013. She was 89.
Born July 10, 1924 in Elkton, she was the daughter of the late John and Carrie (Patrick) Fogleman. Harriett Mary Rea of Elkton died at home Saturday, November 16, 2013. She was 86.
Born in Rising Sun on December 16, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Norval and the late Olive (Garvin) Coale. Mrs. Rea retired from the Department of Aging where she worked as a Receptionist. She most recently was a greeter at Walmart. Howard Leroy Creswell, Sr. of Port Deposit died at home Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He was 69.
He was born on February 3, 1944 to the late Raymond and Gladys Creswell. Harvey Lee Tiller of Perryville died at Christiana Care Hospital's hospice unit on Monday, November 11, 2013. He was 57. Mr. Tiller was born in Havre de Grace, a son of the late James Munroe and Margaret Ann Gleason Tiller. He graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1974. While in high school, he was an avid athlete. Claude A. Stevens of Elkton died at home on Monday, November 11, 2013. He was 87. Mr. Stevens was born in Cleveland, Va., a son of the late Robert P. and Anna Rasnake Stevens. He worked for Thriftway as a meat cutter until he retired. Mr. Stevens was a member of the First Baptist Church of North East. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends. Joan Jack Reynolds Leader, of Elkton, formerly of Rising Sun and Wilmington, Del., died at her home November 6, 2013. She was 82. Born on July 27, 1931 in Rising Sun, she was the daughter of the late William Granville and Essie Hawley Reynolds.
Charles D. Dean, Sr. of Elkton died November 8, 2013 at Union Hospital, Elkton. He was 76. Born in W.Va., on May 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Ray and the late Arvena (Pritt) Dean. Mr. Dean was the owner/operator of Charles D. Dean Excavating.
David R. Barr, Jr. of Port Deposit died November 7, 2013. He was 64. He was born in Havre de Grace on November 30, 1948, the son of Emma DeMarco Barr and David Roland Barr of Port Deposit. The career firefighter devoted his life to the fire service and to serving the citizens of Cecil County. Whenever there was an emergency or something needed to be done in the firehouse, he was one of the first to volunteer and was often tapped to lead important functions. Frankie Woodward of Elkton died Monday, November 4, 2013 in the Heartland Hospice House, Wilmington, Del. She was 87. She was born in Hurley, W.Va., on October 9, 1926. Mrs. Woodward retired from Wilmington Hospital where she had worked in housekeeping. She enjoyed attending the Senior Center both in Elkton, and Marshallton, Del. |
