Dr. George Leroy Raine of Elkton died at home Thursday, August 20, 2015. He was 78.
Born in North East on June 11, 1937, he was the son of the late John Leroy and Mildred (McKinney) Raine. Dr. Raine was a psychologist with offices in Bel Air and Elkton. Douglas Merritt Lidy, Sr. of Conowingo died at home Thursday, August 13, 2015 . He was 64.
Born November 10, 1950 in General Hospital of Wilkes Barre, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank and Gladys Mae Harding Lidy. Mr. Lidy was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was employed as a diesel mechanic for the last 40 years. Ralph McKnight of North East died at home Sunday, August 16, 2015. He was 90.
Born in War, W.Va., on March 6, 1925, he was the son of the late Frank and the late Goldie (Hager) McKnight. Mr. McKnight served his country in the U.S. Army. He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and restoring antique cars. In his later years he enjoyed feeding the squirrels and birds while being cared for by his daughter, Linda Sue, and her son, Terry. Steven Wayne Poe of Elkton, formerly of North East, died Saturday, August 15, 2015, in the Laurelwood Nursing and Rehabilitation, Elkton. He was 59.
Born in Elkton on November 1, 1955, he was the son Rose Lee (Rhodes) Poe of Elkton, and the late William ”Bill” Poe. Kathryn Ann "Kathy" Heidel of North East died at home of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Thursday, August 13, 2015. She was 68.
She was born on May 8, 1947 to Melvin and Kathryn Huber in Baltimore. Mrs. Heidel spent many hours doing volunteer work for her church, St. Mary Anne’s, for Union Hospital, at North East Elementary School, as a mentor and as president and secretary for the North East Women’s Civic League. Jessy Dean Handy, Sr., of Port Deposit died at home Tuesday, August 11, 2015. He was 61.
Born in Havre de Grace on October 7, 1953, he was the son of the late Coy Handy and Lula Handy of Elkton. He was the owner/operator of J. Handy Excavating, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. Richard Matthew Bittner of Port Deposit died at home Monday, August 10, 2015. He was 42.
Born January 29, 1973 in Havre de Grace, he was the son of the late John L. and Mildred Harry Bittner. Mr. Bittner was a parishioner of Good Shepherd Parish and attended St. Teresa’s Catholic Church of Port Deposit. He was employed by Cytec Industrial of Havre de Grace. Emma Marie Gorecki of Charlestown died at home Tuesday, August 11, 2015. She was 73.
Born in Uniontown, Pa., on February 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late William A. Watson, Jr. and the late Dorothy (Smitley) Watson. She retired from Hancock (N.H.) Elementary School where she worked as a custodian. Theresa Irene Miller of Rising Sun died at home Sunday, July 26, 2015. She was 45. Born December 23, 1969 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Ruth Jane (Jones) Johnson and the late Harold Curtis Johnson. She was a social person and enjoyed interacting with people. She also enjoyed her puzzle books; but what she cherished most was spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Jayden. Frank Junior Foots, III of North East died at home Friday, August 7, 2015. He was 57.
Born in Elkton on March 8, 1958, he was the son of the late Frank Jr., and Eleanora Mae Foots. He was a carpenter employed by Delbert Collins. |
