Frances E. Chlebovich, formerly of Bridgeport, Pa., died Monday, August 11, 2014, at Caraway Manor in Elkton. She was 94.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 18, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 502 Ford Street, Bridgeport, Pa. 19405, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Augustine’s cemetery, King of Prussia, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made payable to Caraway Manor and sent in care to R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main St., Elkton, MD 21921. Deborah Ruth Haines died Friday, August 8, 2014 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She was 59. She was born February 18, 1955 in Baltimore. She is survived by her parents, Bernie, Jr., and Betty (Manser) Brown of Conowingo; a brother, Bernie III and his wife Kathy of Conowingo; and godson Christopher S. Brown and his wife Maddie of Colora. She was preceded in death by her son Michael P. Haines who died in July 2013. All services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Baynerd N. Delp died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Union Hospital, Elkton. He was 94. Mr. Delp was born on December 16, 1919 in Pocahontas, Va., son of the late Howard and Hattie Delp. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Delp retired from Maryland Port Authority as a plumber; was a master plumber for the State of Maryland; and worked in southern West Virginia coal mines for 20 years. After the coal mines, he also worked as a rodman for the West Virginia Highways. Joseph Walter Ricker, 83, of Charlestown, formerly of Honey Brook, Pa., died Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Calvert Manor Nursing Home, Rising Sun. Born in Honey Brook, Pa., he was the son of the late Charles William and Verna McAdams Ricker. Mr. Ricker was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. He was retired from Suburban Propane, Honey Brook. James Robert Leonard of Elkton died Friday, July 25, 2014. He was 61.
Born in Chester, Pa., on July 7, 1953, he was the son of the late Robert Edward and Mary Elizabeth (Twaddell) Leonard. He was an Attorney in the Law Offices of Roeberg, Moore and Friedman, Wilmington, Del. Margaret Alice Cifaldo of Perryville died August 1, 2014. She was 92. Born August 25, 1921 in Perryville, daughter of the late George W. and Margaret McManus Hornbarger. She was born and lived her entire life in her family’s home in Perryville. She was a 1938 graduate of Perryville High School. Following graduation she attended State Teachers College at Salisbury. Upon receiving her degree, she returned to her hometown of Perryville where her first job was teaching in a one-room schoolhouse in Liberty Grove. Later she transferred to Chesapeake City Elementary School where she had to take a boat to get from the north side of the canal to the south side where the school was located as the Chesapeake City bridge had not yet been constructed. For many years, until her retirement, she taught first grade at Perryville Elementary School. Sue Ann Gray of Conowingo died at home Thursday, July 31, 2014. She was 81.
Born April 22, 1933 in Missouri, she was one of seven children to the late Ernest C. and Netti Clara Garrett Speakes. Mrs. Gray was formerly employed by Conowingo Country Store for many years, where she enjoyed making subs and adding her own touch of TLC. Doris Marie Poe of Elkton died Thursday, July 31, 2014. She was 67.
Born in Rising Sun on August 15, 1946, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Elizabeth Cline Pierce. Mrs. Poe was a caregiver and member of Harvest Pentecostal Church, Bay View. She loved being with her family and gardening, especially flower gardening. |
