Jane Gillespie Fotiadis of Perryville died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. She was 86.
Born May 2, 1930 in Perryville, she was the daughter of the late Willis Marshall and Helen Cunningham Gillespie. Her cooking skills were unmatched which she loved to share with friends and family. Gloria Constance Rogers of Perryville died Thursday, June 23, 2016 in the Lorien Bulle Rock nursing facility, Havre de Grace. She was 93.
Born March 12, 1923 in Wyoming Valley, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Donald and Ada Warner. She married Melvin Rogers May 5, 1945 in Wyoming, Pa. Earl Edwin Brown,72 yrs, of Perryville, MD, died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 in Upper Chesapeake Hospital of Bel Air, MD.
Dorothy H. Morgan, 93, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2016. Born on November 11, 1922 in Woodstown, NJ, and raised by Rev. A.D. Hammond in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late William Ellis and Alice Hammond. Dorothy graduated from Mercy Hospital and then went on to work as a school nurse at Dunleith and Minquadale both in DE. She then worked at Del Tech as a math tutor. Dorothy was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church in New Castle, DE where she was very active teaching Sunday school and a deaconess, among many other things. She was also a member of the People’s Settlement Senior Center in Wilmington, and of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Dorothy was Godmother of her cousin Rhonda Brown and also helped to raise her and her children, Tyreaf, Vernell, Shawn, and Shanta. She loved going on trips, going to casinos, playing the piano, and sewing. Anthony J. "Tony" Springel, 57, of Rising Sun MD passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, June 16, 2016. He was the husband of Theresa C. "Terri" (Schmidt) Springel. Born in Chester PA, he was the son of Lorraine C. (Hoag) Springel and the late Anthony M. Springel. Tony was a 1977 graduate of Oxford Area High School and was formerly employed as a machinist with Brandywine Valley Fabricators, Coatesville PA and Morton Thiokol, Elkton, MD. In 1983 he fulfilled his dream of starting his own company and he remained the sole proprietor of A J Springel Construction, Inc. until his death. Tony was a proud member of the NRA, Jaeger Sportsman's Club, Oxford Gun Club and Strasburg Sportsman's Association. He was a coach for Cecil Soccer and also coached and sponsored Rising Sun Little League softball and baseball teams. He was a member of Good Shepherd Parish, Perryville, MD and former member of Sacred Heart Parish, Oxford, PA. In addition to being an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman since childhood, Tony enjoyed the ocean, camping, scuba diving, NASCAR, gardening and vacationing with family and friends. Above all else, Tony's greatest love was his family, and he will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, brother and son. Alice Lorraine Price, 90 of North East, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her beloved family.
Born in North East, MD, on December 5, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Alice (Bryson) Parrett. She was the wife of 63 years of Gene Allen Price who preceded her in death on April 11, 2013. Mrs. Price was a longtime member of North East United Methodist Church and a present member of Elkton United Methodist Church. She was a teacher’s aide at North East Elementary School. A devoted wife and mother, she most of all loved her family and the time spent with them. Jeremy Benjamin Ellingsworth of Elkton died Saturday, June 11, 2016. He was 36. He was born in Wilmington, Del., on August 24, 1979, he was employed by THYMLY Co. in Colora. Mr. Ellingsworth enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children. Survivors include his wife, Robyn Blackburn-Ellingsworth; his children, Anthony Foran, Emma, Izabelle and Ulysses Ellingsworth, all at home; parents, Raymond Jr. and Susan Ellingsworth, of North East; and two brothers, Raymond III and Jason Ellingsworth, both of Elkton. Services are private. Dorothy A. (Gilbert) Hudler of North East died Monday, June 13, 2016, in Union Hospital, Elkton, MD. She was 79.
Born in Harford County on March 18, 1937, she was the daughter of Jesse and Annie Gilbert. Mrs. Hudler was a member of the First Baptist Church of North East and served in several positions. She drove a school bus for 12 years and also worked as a GNA at Calvert Manor Nursing Home. She enjoyed gospel music. However, her best times were travelling with Bob and visiting friends. James Dean Martin of Port Deposit died at home Friday, June 10, 2016. He was 55.
Born November 10, 1960 in Havre de Grace, he was the son of Clifton, Sr. and Rose McPeak Martin. Mr. Martin was employed as a foreman by the Maryland Transportation Authority of North East. Loretta Rock, 54 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Elkton on October 21, 1961. Loretta was employed by the University of Delaware as a custodian. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 6027, North East, MD. She enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting and crafting. Most of all, Loretta loved her family and enjoyed the time spent with them. |
