Mark David Krauss, 55, of North East, MD passed away Friday, May 4, 2018. Born in Havre de Grace, MD on February 27, 1963, he was the son of the late Norman Krauss and the late Phyllis Williams Yale. Mr. Krauss was the store manager at American Home and Hardware, Elkton for 30 years. He loved spending time with his family and also golfing, fishing and bowling. Survivors include his wife of 22 years and companion of 30 years, Alice Caldwell Krauss; stepdaughter, Alicia Blankenship Welch, Elkton, MD; grandson Garrett Richmond and granddaughter Aleeyah Borges; siblings, Dawn Krauss, Shelly Carroll (Tomas), and Steve Krauss (Dana); aunts and uncles, Mickey Williams (Laurie Foster), Virginia Lloyd (Bobby Yates), Bill Yale (June), Millie Sprankle (Howard) and Kenny Krauss; nieces and nephews, Kendall Payne (Dan), Anthony Taylor (Jenni Bach), Jessica, Joshua, Benjamin and Bryson Carroll and Taylor and Brooke Krauss. He is also survived by James V. Yale, Jr., who was a father to him. Christina Marie Gsell, 35 of North East, MD, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 6, 2018. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Elkton, on November 28, 1982. Christina was a Manager and Event Coordinator for Steak and Main, North East, MD. She loved her job and many of her customers became very good friends. She enjoyed taking tropical vacations, spin classes, spending an evening out at an elegant restaurant and being the Cecil County Social Life. Most important to Christina was her family and she was a top mom to her two little girls. Connie Ellen Hamby, 62 of Elkton, MD, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018 at home. Born in York, PA, on December 6, 1955, she was the daughter of the late James Orval and Margaret Blake. Connie enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, she would light up when they were around. She loved the kids more than she loved herself. She enjoyed going to Ocean City, amusement parks, traveling to WV, watching wildlife and cooking. She loved her dog Amy and taking care of her outdoor cats. Connie loved taking care of her family and always put everyone before herself. Val Dyer, 57 of North East, MD, died Friday, May 4, 2018 in the University of Maryland Center, Baltimore, MD.

She was a nurse, who enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking and was active in N.A. Bonnie Lee Dowdy, 63 of Elkton, MD, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018 at Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.
She was born in Elkton, on April 29, 1955, the daughter of the late William F. Williams and the late Alberta (Lloyd) Taylor. She was the wife of the late Melvin Lee Dowdy who passed in 2001. Bonnie’s family was the most important thing in her life. She loved taking care of them and spending time with all of them. She was a hero to her children and grandchildren. Donna Elaine Parsons, 67, of Oxford, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Jennersville Hospital Tower Health, West Grove. She was the wife of Kyle Parsons of Oxford. Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Moser Whisman. Donna was employed with DuVall’s Bus Service LLC as a bus aide for 19 years. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Michelle Taylor (fiancé Keith C. Thomas) of Oxford and Pauline Shute (fiancé Eric J. Mumford) of Philadelphia; three step-children; five grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Whisman, Jr. of Christiana, PA and Charles Whisman of North East, MD; one sister, Patricia Pierce of Oxford; and best friend, Phyllis Walls of Oxford; and many nieces and nephews. Mary Lee Shephard, age 89 of Rising Sun, MD passed away on May 3, 2018. She was born on February 2, 1929 in Shouns, TN to the late Lafayette Wilson and Hessie McKenley (Phillips) Wilson. Mary was a longtime member of Conowingo Baptist Church. She was an avid fan of the Baltimore Orioles and enjoyed watching their games. She also loved red birds; cardinals were her favorite. Mary loved spending time with her family and she will be loved and remembered as a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mary is survived by her son, Joseph P. Shephard, Jr. and his wife, Sandra; daughters: Joan Shephard Hanicak and her husband, Joseph and Donna Tracy and her husband, John; grandchildren: Joseph P. Shephard, III and his wife, Tiana, Theresa Hanicak, and Jennifer Shephard and her husband, Chris Jianniney; great grandchildren: Brittany Clark and her husband, Stanley, Tyler Henley, Rylee Jianniney, Harley Shephard, Mackenzie Shephard, and Laney Shephard; and siblings: Grace Osborne, Alf Wilson, and Willa Arnold. Austin Evans Hall, 24 of Perryville, MD, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD. He was born in Havre de Grace, on May 30, 1993. Austin worked in carpentry. He loved the land and enjoyed spending time outside fishing, camping and bow hunting. He also loved his dogs, Sadie and Deegan He is survived by his mother: Kimberly Jo Jenkins (Scott Patterson) of Perryville, MD; his father: Larry Hall, Jr. (Bohlken) of KS; his siblings: Melinda Hall of AK; James Jenkins, Jr., Thomas Jenkins, Andrew Sadler and Emma Jo Patterson all of Perryville, MD; maternal grandparents: Roy and Chris Cantler of Perryville, MD; maternal grandparents: Susan and Rex Burkins of North East, MD; and maternal great grandmother: Josephine Henning of North East, MD. Betty Ann Graham, 69 of Elkton, MD, died Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.
Born in Anawalt, WV, on May 17, 1948, she was the daughter of the late McKinley Gross, Jr. and Tessie (Hartless) Gross. Betty worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground and Bainbridge, prior to her retirement. She enjoyed making arts and crafts, researching ancestry, reading, watching game shows and crossword puzzles. In her younger years, she loved baking and gardening. |
