Ernest Kay ”Ernie” “Little Wrench” Barton, 55 of Conowingo, MD, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his daughter’s home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Elkton, MD, on January 24, 1962, he was the son of the late Beulah Barton Honaker. Ernie enjoyed vacationing in Wildwood, NJ, NHRA, monster trucks and making people laugh. He never met an enemy and would help anyone who needed it. No matter what the temperature he never wore a jacket. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a truck driver over 30 years, employed by C. Morris in Smyrna, DE. Troy T. Shatley, 77, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at home. Born in Chilhowie, VA, he was the son of the late Richard and Hattie Owens Shatley. He was the husband of Naomi Ruth Brack Shatley with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. He was employed with Frezzo Brothers in Avondale as a truck driver. Troy was a member of the Full Gospel Apostolic Church in Kennett Square. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. Timothy Charles Mars, 41 of North East, MD, died suddenly Monday, March 13, 2017. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on July 5, 1975, he was the son of Charles A. and Joann (Tyree) Mars of North East, MD. He was a lifetime member of the American Trapshooting Association and the Oxford Gun Club. In addition to his parents, survivors include his children: Timothy C. Mars, Jr., Alexis M. Mars, Julie M. Mars, Lillian M. Mars and Landyn M. Mars; one sister: Jovonna Mars Pens of North East, MD; his two nephews: Charles E. Pens, Jr.; and Brendan C. Pens; and several aunts and uncles. Dorothy M. Parrett, 70 of North East, MD, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at home with her family by her side. A lifelong resident of North East, she was born on January 7, 1947, the daughter of the late George and Florence Viola (Simpers) Rhoades. Dorothy retired from Acme Markets, working as a baker. She had previously worked for Keystone Fireworks. She was a member of VFW Post 6027 Auxiliary and handled janitorial services for both the VFW Post and North East Volunteer Fire Dept. Mary C. Pauluch, 92 of North East, MD, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at home.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, on November 25, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Jean Caramanico and the wife of the late Andrew Pauluch. Mrs. Pauluch careered as an office supervisor for an insurance company in Philadelphia. Merlan D. Presnell, “Dennis,” age 66 of Chesapeake City, MD died at home surrounded by family on February 17, 2017. He was born on November 16, 1950 in Penns Grove, NJ to the late Merlan Presnell and Beatrice McGraw. Dennis attended Penns Grove High School. After graduating, he became a teamster in Chester County. He also owned his own business as a painter. Dennis especially loved his home, garden, family and cats. Russell Lee Eastridge, 48 years, of Colora, MD, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 in St. Francis Hospital of Wilmington, DE. Born March 2, 1969 in West Grove, PA, he was the son of Patricia Ann McGinley Eastridge of Conowingo, MD, and the late Earvil Henry Eastridge, Jr. Mr. Eastridge was a profoundly genuine person who’d help anyone. No one was a stranger to him. He was a member of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene of Colora, MD, and self-employed owner/operator of B.E. Drywall. Mary Evelyn Bristow, 64 of North East, MD, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family.
A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Elkton, on January 21, 1953, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Dollie Mae (Boyce) Charshee. Mary, who worked in housekeeping at Union Hospital, enjoyed needle point, making jewelry and painting ceramics. Survivors include her husband: Eddie Bristow; daughter: Priscilla Horne (Kenny) and son: Edwin Nathan Bristow all of North East, MD; three sisters: Ella Bender of Elkton, MD, Patty Kendall of Elkton, MD and Joeia Moore of Rising Sun, MD; brother: Kenneth Charshee of Elkton, MD; and her two grandchildren: Emily and Carter Horne. Arthur C. Snyder, 96, of Rising Sun, MD, went to be with his Lord on March 9, 2017. He was born on March 12, 1920 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Arthur Snyder and Elsie C. (Longstreet) Snyder.
Arthur’s life was dairy farming but his love was his family. He faithfully served his Savior and his church and was a man of prayer. He enjoyed the simple things of life, a beautiful sunset, a nice breeze, and listening to hymns of the faith played by his daughters. He was an Army Air Corps veteran who served as a crew chief in the 352nd Fighter Group in the European theater during WWII. Mr. Bobby Gene Mast, son of the late Hoy Lee Mast and Elizabeth Pearl (Anderson) Mast, was born on June 24, 1931 in Sugar Grove, North Carolina. He attended public school in Cove Creek and at an early age he professed his faith in Jesus Christ by joining Evergreen Baptist Church in Trade, Tennessee where he was a dedicated member. After moving to Maryland, he attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Rising Sun, Maryland. Bobby Mast was united in marriage to Violet Mae Robinson on December 19, 1952. Their union of 64 years, was filled with many blessings including three children. After a 36 year career with the Chrysler Corporation in Newark, Delaware, he retired in 1989. His integrity and devotion to family is recognized and appreciated by those who knew and loved him. Cherished memories include his stories of growing up in the Appalachian Mountains and childhood adventures with his younger brother Jackie. He peacefully departed this life on March 8, 2017 surrounded by family at his home in North East, Maryland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four brothers William Mast, James Mast, Richard Anderson and Jackie Lee Mast. |
