Rex A. Sheetz, 64, of Rising Sun, Maryland, entered into rest unexpectedly on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late John D. & Ruth K. (Brown) Sheetz. Rex was a 1972 graduate of Solanco High School. He enjoyed being a truck driver most of his life and loved driving a good fast truck. He loved his family, children, scouting, motorcycles, fast cars, tractors, and guns. Rex never met a stranger and could chat with anyone for hours, even if he had just met them. He was a kind hearted, gentile soul, who loved to tell stories and was best at making people laugh even in the toughest situations. Edna Dulaney Smith, 92 of Aberdeen, MD, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD.
A lifelong resident of Harford County, she was born in Perryman, on January 3, 1925, the daughter of the late George Alexander Bowen and the late Mildred Elizabeth (Waream) Bowen. Mrs. Smith was an active member of Wesleyan Chapel UM Church, Aberdeen, MD. In addition to her devotion to her church, she enjoyed bowling, stock car racing and loved feeding her squirrels and birds. Lydia Warrington Abrahams Gilbert, 96, of Cecil County, Maryland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 16, 2017. Lydia was born in Providence, MD and lived most of her life in Cecil County, MD in Principio Furnace, Port Deposit and North East. She also lived for 24 years in Middletown, DE. Lydia graduated from Perryville High School in 1938. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles B. Warrington and Mary Bye Warrington (Principio Furnace), and her siblings John (Jack) Warrington (Principio Furnace), Margaret Driggs (Baltimore) and Mary Rowland (Havre de Grace). She was married to Joseph W. Abrahams of Port Deposit for 18 years until his death in 1957. Audrey Wardell Riale, 89 years, of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2017 in the Calvert Manor HealthCare Center of Rising Sun, MD. Born August 18, 1927 in Port Deposit, MD, she was the daughter of the late Luther Grafton and Edna Jennings Wardell.
Audrey was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church of Colora, MD. She is survived by her daughter, Dale E. Underwood of Rising Sun, MD; son-in-law, Darrel Kinnan of Lincoln, NE; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and sister, Joan Johnson of Gastonia, NC. Richard Alan “Ricky” Clore, Jr., 27 of North East, MD, died Saturday, February 11, 2017. He was born in Baltimore, MD, on March 10, 1989 and worked as a concrete finisher, employed by Guardian Environmental Services. He enjoyed fishing, hiking and hunting. Ricky was a loving uncle and brother. He loved spending time with his son Matthew, niece Audri, nephews Anthony and Teddy. In his free time he was always with them teaching them something or reading to them. They would sit and play video games together. He also liked taking them on hikes with a picnic. He loved being outside, working with his hands and was always willing to help out his sister whether it be around the house or with the kids. He was one of a kind and will be truly missed! Ruth Purner Simpson, 92 of North East, MD, died Monday, February 13, 2017 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD.
Born in Charlestown, MD, on October 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Marshall and the late Martha (Meekins) Purner. Mrs. Simpson retired as an executive secretary for the U.S. Navy. She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the North East UM Church, North East, MD. Carol “Cricket” Wyatt, 77 years, of Port Deposit, MD, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in Upper Chesapeake Medical Center of Bel Air, MD. Born April 25, 1939 in Pageton, WVA, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Lorraine Kirk Crabtree. Cricket was a graduate of Tazewell High School of Tazewell, VA. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Randall Wyatt of Port Deposit, MD; sons, Archie Randall Wyatt and wife, Dina, Danny Ray Wyatt and wife, Regina, Robert Shelton Wyatt and partner, Dena; daughter, Virginia Tibbett and husband, Mike; sisters, Doris Crabtree and Kay Conley; brother-in-law, Curtis Green; 11 grandchildren, Andrew, Erica, Danny Jr, Brian, Kristen, Julianne, Tommy, Matt, Christopher, Robbie and Dusty; 4 great grandchildren, Caleb, Brycen, Izaih and Cameron; numerous nieces and nephews who were all so dear to her. Rita D. Funk of Rising Sun, MD, age 62, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017. She was born on December 29, 1954 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Dick Kellner and Helen (Firestone) Kellner. Rita was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Rising Sun Fire Company for over 40 years, an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the American Legion Post 194 and loved spending time with her family and her “grand-puppy” Lily. She supported other fire companies bingo events, cherished her grandson, Eric and loved spending time with her neighbors and drinking coffee on the porch with them. Reverend James Brockway Jones (Jim), age 67 of Rising Sun, MD passed away on February 1, 2017. He was born on September 16, 1949 in Rockford, IL to the late, Hueblin Brockway Jones and Maxine (Campbell) Jones. Reverend Jim is survived by his wife, Rebecca Jones of Rising Sun, MD; sons: Drew Jones of Atlanta, GA and Blake Jones on Tempe, AZ; sister, Pam Smith of Pittsboro, NC; and half-brother, Rick Alvis of Rocky Mount, NC. Ayden Mathew Foster, age 4, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017. He was born on May 14, 2012 in Newark, De, to Chantel Lace South and Bryan Ernest Foster. Ayden had an inseparable bond with his younger sister, Adalynne and everyone could see how much they loved each other. He was a very happy and silly boy who could always find a way to put a smile on your face. Ayden looked forward to going to pre-school each day at Meadow Wood in Newark, DE. He loved any type of water activity including, swimming and water slides. Ayden was a Mom Mom and Pop Pop's boy and was the light of their life. |
