Born March 9, 1960 in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., she was the daughter of the Nancy M. Fossett LeRoy and the late Carl R. LeRoy. Mae Ola (Roland) Johnson of Conowingo died Wednesday, February 19, 2014. She was 87.
She was born on July 12, 1926 in Jefferson, N.C. to the late Walter Wade and Ella (Weaver) Roland. Jim Walter Holloway of Charlestown died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at home. He was 79.
He was born in Statesboro, Ga., on July 31, 1934. Shirley Temple Welch, of Perryville, died Monday, February 17, 2014, in Harford Memorial Hospital of Havre de Grace. She was 77.
Mrs. Welch was born in Townsend, Delaware on March 21, 1936, daughter of the late Walter Lee and Mollie Harriet Moore Guessford. Shirley Ann Pierce of Rising Sun died at home on February 15, 2014. She was 70. Born in Elkton on September 16, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Bernard (Barney) and Anna Keller. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School and continued to meet with her classmates on a monthly basis. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant at Harrington Auto Body and recently worked part time at Benjamin’s Store. Elizabeth T. Maresca of Elkton died Sunday, February 9, 2014 in Owings. She was 80. Born July 1, 1933 in Union City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Francessco and Maddalena (Paturzo) Pollio. She worked 37 years to working for the Cecil County Public School System as an elementary teacher. James Given of Elkton, and Jefferson, N.C. died Saturday, February 15, 2014. He was 76.
Born in Hendersonville on July 27, 1937, he was the son of the late Walter C. Given, Sr. and Margarite (McNabb) Given. Jerrell Lloyd Sanders of North East died February 13, 2014 at Union Hospital in Elkton. He was 89. He was born November 26, 1924 in Hopewell, Va. to the late Daisy and Lloyd Sanders of Colonial Heights, Va. He lived in Petersburg, Va. with his family until 1971. Mr. Sanders attended The University of Virginia, Caltech, Virginia Commonwealth University and obtained a Master’s from the University of Richmond. He was a 41-year employee of the Defense Department and retired as a Lieutenant Commander from the Naval Reserves. Janice Marie (Forsythe) Gardner of Rising Sun died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Upper Chesapeake Hospital, Bel Air,. She was 81. Born September 3, 1932 in Eddington, Maine,, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Costello) Forsythe, and James L. Forsythe. She was a member of the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, an avid reader, and a loving mother and grandmother. Grace Ann Cather died at home on Sunday, February 9, 2014. She was 59.
